8 Months Old!!!

This morning when I woke up mommy told me the dreadful news that I was turning 8 months old today. She is so sad that I am such a big boy now and has come to the harsh reality that I am actually big enough to drive Grandpa Doug's truck! I don't see what is so bad about it though. To me, it's like being one day closer to eating with a big fork.... You know what I mean? Anyway, here are pictures of me.

A Teething Biscuit

Today mommy and daddy decided to let me try a teething biscuit. It was so good! Mommy said that I did so well because I fed it to myself. Daddy thought it was funny because it made a HUGE mess all over the outfit he picked out for me this morning. Mommy said that I got more of the biscuit ON my mouth than IN it! She also said it made a bigger mess than jello because I had it up my nose and in between all my fingers. I even managed to get it on my forehead...... It's been hard work making messes for mommy and daddy to clean up, but so far, I think I'm doing a pretty good job!

Oh, and mommy did this neat drawing of me too! She has been working on it for a couple of weeks and finally finished it today. I feels so special now that I have a drawing of me by Great Grandma Connie and by Mommy! I guess I'm just a good picture person. The camera loves me!

I Can Stand all by Myself!

Hi everybody, look what I can do! I just started standing by myself a couple of weeks ago and I am pretty darn good at it too! Last night, I even took one step by myself! Mommy thinks it will be a little while longer before I begin walking, but I've convinced Daddy otherwise. They are so proud of me because I am so smart. I think I really have mommy and daddy believing that I am the smartest kid in the whole world!

The Big Boy Bath Tub

YAY! This morning mommy let me take a bath in the big boy bath tub. I've been in the big kid tub before, but mommy would get in with me and we wear our swimming suits. This time, it was only me! Even though she treated me like a big kid by letting me sit in there all by myself for the first time, she wouldn't leave my side! I swear.... Can a kid get any privacy?

Sweet Potatoes.... Good for Snoozing

I've been falling asleep in the weirdest places lately! Today when mommy was feeding me my sweet potatoes, I fell asleep. She looked down at my food bowl to get me more and when she looked up at me, this is what she saw. She got scared for a moment because she thought something was wrong with me. But, when she realized I had zonked out, she thought it was funny and took some pictures. I don't think it's all that funny. I was just sleepy!!

The President a Fever and a New Tooth....... I'm Pooped!

Well, sorry I haven't been around in a while but I've had a rough weekend. I was sick all weekend long. I had a really high fever of 105.2 on Saturday morning! Even though I was taking medicine every 3-4 hours my temperature was climbing and I was not eating or playing at all so mommy and daddy took me to the hospital. They said it was good that I came because I had such a bad fever. I still have a little temperature but I am eating now and slept through the night last night again. That made mommy really happy. The doctor said that most likely I have a virus called Rosela. (I don't know who Rosela is, but I don't like her!) I also got a new tooth at the same time! Now I have 3 teeth. Two on the bottom and one on the top. Since I am feeling better today, here is a picture of me playing this morning.

Another thing that I wanted to mention is that President Bush was at Daddy's work on Sunday! None of us got to see him though. Daddy said that it would be too crowded to go on base, but we did see his helicopter in the sky and daddy said that he was probably in there! I wish I could've met him..... Maybe next time.

After a weekend of being sick, having the president in town and getting another tooth, I am totally pooped out! I need to catch up on ZZZ's so here I am sleeping in my walker. I've never fallen asleep in here before, but after everything that happened, can you blame a guy?!

Playing Peek-a-Boo!!

YAY! I finally get it! Mommy has tried playing peek-a-boo with me for a couple months now, but I've never understood it and never laughed or even cracked a smile. Last night mommy tried it and I giggled. She went absolute BONKERS! She thought it was funnier than I did! She is so funny so I kept giggling at her.

When I'm a Grown-Up

When mommy laid the camera down on my wallker to play peek-a-boo with me, I snatched it up and took this picture of myself! This photograph has superb composition and equally uses the backround and the foreground so miraculously that I believe it could be an award winning photo. (As you can tell, my language skills are on the high end of the chart for 7 1/2 month olds. Mommy and Daddy are so proud...) But anyway, I think when I become a grown-up I should take a serious look at the field of photography......

Who are the Royals?!!

Hmmm....... I got this cool Royals jersey for Easter from Grandpa Doug and Grandma Donita. They said that even though the Royals are bad, everyone here in California would know that I have someone in Kansas City that loves me! I have never seen a Royals game yet, but mommy said that I went to a couple when I was in mommy's tummy! Anyhow, I really like the outfit cause it's really comfy and plenty of room for growing!

Yummy Fruit Puffs

About a month ago mommy and daddy bought me some of these yummy fruit puffs. They taste so good and they dissolve in my mouth so quickly that mommy doesn't worry about me choking on them. I eat them for snack with juice after my naptime. I can even feed them to myself now! I am getting so good at it that I can put more than one in my mouth at a time! Only, mommy gets mad at me when I do that and she takes them away for a while.

Mommy and daddy now give me most of what they eat too! I can try breads and big boy fruits too! Mommy and Daddy bought a mesh feeder that they can put big boy food into and then I can suck on it and get food out of it in tiny pieces so I don't choke! I am still learning how to use it though. It's a wierd texture and it feels funny on my tongue!

Tickle, Tickle, Tickle!

Mommy has recently found out that I am very ticklish! She tickles me all the time just to try to make me laugh. Silly mommy!

The Easter Bunny Came to My House!

Happy Easter!! I woke up this morning and got all of these neat things for Easter! A leap pad, a fuzzy puppy, a sippy cup, a Royals jersey all the way from KC from Grandma Donita and Grandpa Doug, and a really cute homemade bear from my aunt Traci.... Thanks guys!


This is me and Great Grandma and Grandpa on Easter Sunday holding the puppy dog they got me. He is so soft! Great Grandma Evelyn said that they got me a puppy to help me since I miss Molly and Savannah so much!

Oh what a day.... I hope the Easter Bunny comes back tomorrow!

Jello Time!

YAY!!! Time for jello. Mommy made me some jello jigglers and gave them to me last night. She tried to get me to eat it, but it was too cold! I liked to squish it between my fingers instead and get it all over my tray!!!

Oh!! Something that is exciting is that I just found out last night that I get to go to Missouri to see Grandpa and Grandma and aunt Traci in June! I'm so excited!

A New Trick

I personally DID NOT want this picture on my blog, but mommy made me put it on.
She thinks I look like a "trouble maker" in this picture. I'm not though. I am a sweet boy!


(And, yes, it's a new boo boo. And FYI: Daddy and Mommy DO NOT abuse me! I just got in another fight...... and lost...... again.)

This is me earlier today playing with the spring behind the front door. This is my new trick. I can stand and then bend over to play with something on the ground. (holding on of course!)
Mommy said that experts in child development call this "dipping" and that most kids my age can't do this yet! I'm growing up so fast that I will soon be driving Grandpa Doug's truck!

Just takin' a quick snooze in my stroller while mommy takes me for a walk at the park.

Picnic Time!

Mommy and Daddy say that this is my "new" smile. I scrunch up my nose and look up. Then I smile so big that you can see my upper gums! Mommy and Daddy make fun of me and now when they smile at me they do the same thing.... Only, they look even sillier than me!




This is me and mommy and daddy at the park having a picnic! It was so much fun and I even got to eat a cheeto! We ate lunch and played and walked on the walking path. I even caught a little nap. Mommy says she looks forward to doing this with me because she loves the park. It's the only place in our area that has grass and it makes us feel more like we could be back home in Kansas City.

Entertainment Center VS. Me

So, this is a picture of me a couple of hours after my fight with the entertainment center on Wednesday night. I was trying to stand up by it and fell and hit the corner and it cut my eye. When it happened it bled pretty badly and mommy got really scared because daddy told her I might need stitches. There was blood all over the side of my head and on daddy's hand. We taped it up and went to the hospital to have it looked at, but it ended up being okay. It is still a little bruised, but daddy says it is okay and its a great battle wound! Mommy still feels bad that she couldn't catch me in time before I got hurt. Regardless, I still love to play by the entertainment center but mommy gets really mad and takes me away from it. Next time I'll show it who's boss!

I Can Undress Myself!

Mommy let me play in my walker and look what I can do!

I got my shirt off in two minutes flat. Mommy asked me "Eli, what did you do sweety?!!" I gave her this devilish grin!

My Day at the Park!

I am having fun! Mommy and Daddy found this really neat park right by our house and we went playing today! I went on the swings and the slides and played in the grass. I got so tired that mommy and daddy put me in the stroller and went walking on the walking path, but I fell asleep. Too much playing for me!

This is me "climbing" the rock wall. Actually daddy held me the whole time but it looks like I did it all by myself!

This is me on the swing and the slide. I thought it was a lot of fun even though in the picture on the swing I am holding on for dear life! I really did smile most of the time! And I loved the slide. I felt like such a big boy!

Diaper + Change = Play Time

Hehehe! When the diaper comes off, I go rolling! I love to play on my changing table during diaper changes! I don't like to sit still. It's really funny when mommy and daddy are trying to change me when I am moving and sitting up. I am ALL SMILES!





Here I am eating my lunch. Sometimes when mommy and daddy try to feed me lunch I spit it out because I am so sleepy that I don't want to eat. I like my milk a lot more than my baby food. If I got mommy and daddy food, I would like that!!!

Mommy says I get so sleepy because I wake up too early. When we lived in Missouri I slept until 8:00 am. But, now that we live here in CA, the sun comes up earlier and I wake up at 6:30-7:00. And, there is a bird that lives outside my window that makes noise all day long! Daddy tried to shoo it away, but it came back.
