Last night Daddy said he needed to give his car a bath, so Mommy and I helped him! It was so much fun, and I got really wet because Daddy kept spraying me with the hose!
While we were outside washing the car, Mommy saw all the smoke in the sky. It is from lightening a couple weeks ago that caused a really big fire!
It is really close to our house and the whole sky is smokey and dark. There are over 600 firefighters that have been trying to put it out for three days straight, but it's getting bigger! And many houses have burned down. It is very sad and scary because it is moving our way. Daddy says it will never make it to our house because of all the big roads in between us. The smoke in the sky has already flown all the way to Las Vegas and they can see it there!

Wow Eli! I can imagine how all that smoke might scare you. It is a good thing daddy is teaching you how to use the hose in case you have to put it out. Don't worry though, Daddy is right, you may not be able to play outside because of the smoke, but you are far enough away that the fire won't get you.. It wouldn't dare harm my grandbaby!
